in a world where most photographers are not willing to help a follow photographer, these guys are definitely the exception to the rule. kristin and aaron are good friends of mine and have always been incredibly sweet and helpful since the first day i met them. they both love pictures, love God and love people. i owe a lot of where i am to their help and support, although they may not think they have done much of anything. they are kind, giving and if you have ever had your picture taken by aaron you will know he is crazy funny. i have spent hours talking with kristin about life, shopping, photography and our faith and always leave feeling encouraged and filled up. words can not express how thankful i am for these 2.
i had the privilege of getting to do a photo trade out with them…they take our pictures and i take theirs. i so wanted to do an amazing job for them….mostly to say thank you so much for everything! i am super excited about how the images turned out. the pictures they took for us are, of course, amazing…i will be posting soon.

This post is definitely LOOONG over due. I wanted to get it going when we got back from the beach with my family, but then wedding season kicked into full swing and time definitely got away from me. Of, course at that point this wouldn’t have been a birthday post…. =). Today is my grandma’s birthday, today she is one year older and wiser and I love her more today than ever before. I was VERY lucky to have 2 sets of amazing grandparents growing up and both of them played HUGE very important roles in my life. I would think it is safe to say that my grandparents and parents all raised me. I guess it took 6 people to do the job – HA!
I posted a while back about my grandma Ragsdale…..and today is about my grandma DeLuca – Italiano. She is giving, strong and very devoted to living a life of faith. She is funny and always quick to laugh at herself in an awkward situation (which is always great). She’s a fabulous cook, meets a new friend in every location and has initiated her own words and phrases into our family dictionary such as “youz”, “don’t buy green banana’s” & “ok for yooouuu” . We all love her so much. She is a pillar in our family and has taught us the importance of tradition and the strength found in being together. I can’t thank her enough for praying for me relentlessly and teaching me over the years about unconditional love and what that looks like.

Meet Ellen. She is a wife. She is a mom. She has five kids (can she be canonized for that?). She is an amazing woman…in a normal kind of amazing way. Why don’t we ever recognize these people as amazing? The normal people? She has overcome breast cancer twice…two times. She recently received news that the cancer had returned and metastasized to her brain. I can’t even imagine. I am sure she is scared…Sometimes I think God views being scared differently than we do. I once heard someone say “Having courage isn’t a lack of fear. It’s being afraid and doing it anyway.” I like that….I could be wrong for thinking that way (I often am)…but I don’t care so much 
Ellen asked me to pass her name along for people to pray. I figure the internet is pretty big…
Pray for Ellen and her family. They need courage. They need your prayers.
